Located on the shores of the Cantabrian Sea and the bay where the Urola and Narrondo rivers converge, Zumaia is one of the three municipalities that make up the Basque Coast Geopark.

 

In recent years Zumaia has been the scene of several shootings since a couple of years ago they filmed part of the film 'Ocho apellidos vascos' and in the summer of 2016 the famous television series 'Game of Thrones' filmed part of its seventh season on the beaches of Itzurun. The spectacular cliffs that make up the Flysch are some of the scenarios that have captivated the producers of the series.

 

Its two beaches, Itzurun and Santiago, the marina, the entrance of the flysch, the museums of Zuloaga and Behobide and its monuments such as the parish of San Pedro, the Hermitage of San Telmo or the Palaces of Foronda and Olazabal, make it one of the municipalities with the greatest tourist attraction on the Gipuzkoan coast.
